Sun, Song

Song Sun joined the IASM as a permanent member in January, 2024. He obtained his bachelor's degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2006 and his doctorate from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010. He was an Assistant Preofessor, Associate Professor and then Professor at Stony Brook University (2013-2018),  an Associate Professor and then a Professor at Berkeley University of California (2018 -) right before joining the IASM.

 

Song Sun's research interests include differential geometry, complex geometry, and geometric analysis. Sun was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in 2018. He received a Sloan Research Fellowship in 2014, was awarded the Oswald Veblen Prize in Geometry in 2019, and received the Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics – New Horizons in Mathematics in 2021.
