Title:ZUMA- Recent advances on the fractal uncertainty principle
Venue: Lecture Hall of IASM
Time: 16:00 - 17:00, August 5, Tuesday
Speaker: Zhongkai Tao 陶中恺 (The University of California, Berkeley)
Abstract: The fractal uncertainty principle (FUP) is a statement in harmonic analysis that has been very useful in the study of geometric spectral problems, including spectral gaps and quantum chaos. I will give an overview of some recent studies of the fractal uncertainty principle and explain how Hormander’s L^2 estimate plays an important role in the recent breakthrough of Alex Cohen on a higher dimensional version of FUP.
