Abstract: In this series of three lectures, I will outline a program for applying 6d quantum field theories to the study of smooth 4-manifolds and survey some recent developments in this direction. The lectures will be primarily based on two recent works, arXiv:2509.12402 and arXiv:2511.11807, as well as an earlier work, arXiv:1811.07884.
