Professor Binyong Sun Awarded with 2024 Future Science Prize

Binyong Sun, professor of the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics was awarded the Mathematics and Computer Science Prize of 2024 Future Science Prize, according to the Future Science Prize press conference on the morning of August 16, 2024, in recognition of his  significant contributions to the representation theory of Lie groups, focusing particularly on the multiplicity one theorems for classical groups, the theory of theta correspondence, and the non-vanishing hypothesis in Rankin-Selberg convolutions.

 



Established in 2016 by a coalition of scientists and entrepreneurs, the Future Science Prize focuses on original fundamental scientific research. It currently comprises three categories: the Life Science Prize, the Physical Science Prize, and the Mathematics and Computer Science Prize. The prize honors scientists (regardless of nationality) who have achieved exceptional scientific accomplishments within the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
