Abstract:In this talk, I will discuss parabolic Hitchin systems of type D. We prove a physical conjecture stating that the Hitchin map factors through a finite cover of the base. As a byproduct, we uncover a connection between the self-duality of generic fibers and special nilpotent orbits. This is joint work with Bin Wang and Xueqing Wen.
